Texas Aggie Defense Stinks…

The Aggie Defense was horrible last night against Texas State. I don’t want to take anything away from the performance of the TX ST QB, but the Aggie D was bad.

The Aggies did win, and the offense looked very good. Reggie McNeal set more Texas A&M records. He is now the first QB in Aggie history to pass for consecutive 300 yard games, getting 317. He also ran for a solid 86 yards. Look for Reggie to follow this performance up with an amazing game next week against Baylor (Baylor embarrassed A&M last year).

There were other offensive standouts on the Aggie offense. Courtney Lewis ran for 136 yards and scored two TDs. Jason Carter had an awesome game. He pulled down 8 balls for 219 receiving yards and a TD. The 219 recieving yards for Jason Carter are 2nd best in school history. And Chad Schroeder had a rushing TD and a receiving TD. Giving him 5 offensive touches for 5 TDs this year.

Again, the Aggie D was bad. Giving up 493 total yards and letting Barrick Nealy throw for 378 yards and three TDs. If the defense plays like that against our Big 12 opponents it will be a long, long year. Personally, I blame Coach Torbush for the poor performance. As Defensive Coordinator he is responsible for their play and they suck. The defense has made little progress since he took over and I’m calling for the FIRING OF COACH TORBUSH now!

Hey Erik,
I was just on your site to look at Noah’s Bday party pics and started reading your entries – have to comment on the Aggies.

Anyway, I watched the Aggie/Texas State game too. How are we going to compete in the Big 12 against teams w/ incredible offenses when we can’t stop a division 2 school(granted the quarterback was at UH for a while)? I’m scared. Our offense looks great, special teams has even been looking pretty good this year. But that defense… I wish they would go back to the old defensive scheme(can we hire RC as our defensive coordinator?) and bring back the Wrecking Crew.

I’m sure defense will get it done this week – Baylor will be destroyed after last year’s win.

See ya!
