Man was I behind publishing family pics up to the flickr site! I hadn’t done anything since Christmas/New Years. I did a bit a week or so and realized I had a full day still to get caught up. So after a nice lunch at iFratelli’s with Mom and Rolfe I sat down and got to work.
I remembered to tivo the British Open so I had 4 hours of golf that acted as background noise for my flickr work. By the time I was done uploading photos I had created 18 new Sets and pushed-up close to 500 pics (that’s a guesstimate on the pics, but the Sets number is accurate). All I have left to publish is the pictures we took while on vacation and I plan on getting that done in the next day or so.
Highlights from the flickr work today:
… in March! The boys went crazy, before they went to bed, playing outside when the snow was just starting. When they wake up they will go nuts! The snow is coming down harder here in Dallas then it was in both Chicago in January and Tahoe in February. Nuts!
Two weekends ago I went on a vacation to North Lake Tahoe. We stayed at the North Lake Tahoe Hyatt, an awesome resort. Absolutely beautiful place. Great casino. Great pool. Great restaurants. Great bars. We had a great time!
The best thing… the whole trip was free! I work at this awesome company, Credera, and we take a company vacation every year. This year was a ski trip to Tahoe. We skied at Northstar. We rode a paddle boat on the lake for a dinner cruise. Katie and I went and jumped in the hot tub. That was a strange experience. Snow and cold everywhere and Katie and I are outside in our swimsuits enjoying the hot tub.
I have a handful of pics, and a few videos from the slopes. I’ll post below. I have to say that Katie again showed why she is the best wife ever. She went to ski school with me and was completely bored and I wasn’t that nice. It was my first trip and the ski instruction took a bit longer to sink in. Anyhow, by the end of the day, I felt pretty good about my abilities. It was a lot of fun and most of it was because Katie followed close behind me telling me what to do. I have no doubt we’ll go skiing again.
I’ve been working some long hours at work and the last thing I’ve wanted to do is go home and sit in front of a computer. Anyhow, I’m past that and have finally got the remaining pics I had from Christmas up, as well as a trip we took to see the Battleship Texas, and last but not least…. pics from Katie’s birthday. Enjoy…
I’ve been doing the online photo sharing/backup thing for a number of years. A simple search for Flickr on this site starts with a post from December 2004. The folks at Common Craft have a great new video that gives the pros for why you should be keeping your photos online. The sharing part is cool, but honestly, I started pushing my pics up to Flickr to cover my rear for the unforeseeable hd crash, or worse house fire. Katie has repeatedly threatened my life over loosing pics from when the boys were born, or their first Christmas’.
Anyhow, go watch the Common Craft video on Photo Sharing to see what I’m talking about…
