Well, I guess the cat is out of the bag… If you hit j2eesig.org, or javamug.org you will see where I will be spending a large chunk of my free time this year. That will be as the co-leader of the Dallas, TX J2EE User Group. And if that wasn’t enough, my friend Pete Carapetyan and I will also start up the Dallas Hands On User Group again as the new… J2EE Hands On User Group.
Go hit j2eesig.org for all the gory details, but summing things up we will be working through Sang Shin’s J2EE course. It’s a strong curriculum consisting of 10 sessions running the gamut of the J2EE stack from installing the Sun Java System App Server Platform Edition 8 (I will never type that again, from here on out it will be SJSASPE8, and that if ugly, too!), learning Servlets, JSPs, and then working through EJBs.
If you live in Dallas please come attend our meetings. We meet on the 3rd Wednesday and 3rd Thursday of each month at the JC Penny facility off 635 and Coit (see these directions for specifics). The Wednesday session will be a lecture and the Thursday session will be a “hands on” lab.
