Did you see that Sun released a new version of Sun Java System Application Server? It’s not the most popular App Server, but I’ve been following it closely for over 5 years now.
We used it at my old job, Pegasus Solutions. We used it when it was Netscape Application Server, when it was iPlanet Application Server, and when it was Sun One Application Server. I left Pegasus and I thought Sun Java System Application Server behind when I came to Custom Credit Systems, but no. I can’t escape SJSAS. The J2EE SIG I lead uses it in our hands-on labs every month.
Sun Java System Application Server is a quality product that is free, but I’m starting to get really annoyed with the team that is developing it. WHERE IS THE MAC OS X VERSION OF SUN JAVA SYSTEM APPLICATION SERVER? You’ve got one for just about every OS known to man: Solaris 10, 9 and 8 (SPARC), Solaris 10 and 9 (x86), Java Desktop System, Redhat Enterprise Linux 2.1 & 3.0, Microsoft Windows XP Pro, Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
How about a friggin’ Mac OS X version? Or how about detailed instructions on getting one of your Linux versions running on Mac OS X?
