I Got Four New CDs Today…

I got four CDs in the mail today from the greatness of BMG Music. The new CDs couldn’t be any different from each other:

Anthrax – Attack of the Killer B’s
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones – Greatest Hits of the 20th Century
Norah Jones – Feels Like Home
Loretta Lynn – Van Lear Rose

You see what I’m talking about? I think I covered the music spectrum there…. I’d love to see the face of the person that packed my order. I’m sure they were confused.

I’ve got a funny story about the Anthrax disc. Right after opening it tonight my wife needed me to run to the grocery store. I grabbed my new Anthrax CD and took my son, Noah with me. Well, the store is right around the corner so we didn’t even make it through the first song.

On the way home I skipped to the second song, Bring the Noise (yup the one with Anthrax and Public Enemy) and turned it up a bit. Not too loud because Noah is only 2 1/2 years old and the wife doesn’t like me playing music too loud with him in the car. Well, after a couple of minutes of listening to the song Noah raises his voice from the backseat and says, “That’s a good music, Daddy! That’s a good music, Daddy!” It really cracked me up. My son just really says some random stuff that catches me off guard. This ranks up towards the top of the list.

Who knew Noah was a Metal Head…. Katie got a good laugh and then quickly told me not to play that kind of music with Noah in the car. It was two songs…

Noah has a good sense of taste. 🙂

Bring the noise is a great song and yes I have a few of their cds. Killer Bees, Sound of White Noise, Persistance of Time and their EP which has three versions of the original I’m the Man song.

As for Bela Fleck, another great band. Have Flight of the Cosmic Hippo, Ufo Tofu and his classical solo project Perpetual Motion. That last one blows me away given how he played with Joshua Bell, Edgar Meyer, and John Willians, just to name a few.

As for your wife’s concern, just tell her that Anthrax threw out their singer because he drank before shows. Yup, these guys may just play some of the hardest music out there but, they will not do anything to effect their music. And what they lose in potty mouth time they more then make up for it with anti-hate / anti-racist songs like “Keep it in the Family.”

If I were you, I’d sneak him some additional air time. 😮
