The Ags lost last night in their NIT Quarterfinal game against St Joseph’s. I think it was easily the worst shooting night the Ags had all year. They ended the first half with 19 friggin’ points. St Joseph’s was a 1 seed in the NCAA tourney last year. The Ags hadn’t played any type of postseason basketball in over 10 years. St Joseph’s was used to the pressure and they were simply a better team.
Now that I’ve got my comments on last nights game out of the way I’d like to say that the 2004-2005 season was an absolute success. There is no way it could have gone better. The Aggies went from a Big-12 record of 0-16 last year to a quality 8-8 this year. The Aggies won over 20 games this year. The Ags beat two Top 25 teams. The list goes on and on.
The hire of Billy Gillispie was huge for the Men’s Basketball program. He will turn this program into a Big-12 contender. Look out, if you’re a Kansas fan. Look out, if you’re a tu fan. The Aggies will be a force in years to come.
