Since I have been called by 4 people on this subject let me give my opinion here, in public, for all to read…..
With the 4th pick in the 2005 NFL Draft the Chicago Bears took Cedric Benson. What’s the deal? Well, Cedric Benson played for my most hated team in college football, the Texas Longhorns, and he was drafted by my favorite team in the NFL. A number of my friends and various family members had fun asking me about the pick over the weekend.
Anyhow, here is how I break this pick down. Over the last four years my most hated player in college football was Cedric Benson, of the University of Texas Longhorns. He made my Fightin’ Texas Aggies look like a 3rd rate high school team. I hated him. I hated him for going to Texas over A&M. I pretty much hate all players that choose Texas over A&M. Well, as of yesterday afternoon, when the Bears picked Cedric Benson with the fourth overall pick he became one of my…… FAVORITE players in the NFL….. 🙂 Yup, that quick I changed my mind. I now love Cedric Benson and fully belive he will carry the Bears back into the playoffs.

Heck, I’m gonna love him because I think he can be a dominant NFL RB.
I think the Pats have their next Super Bowl opponent in my Bears… 🙂
What do you have to say about the NFL analysis that Benson is the draft pick most likely to be the next “Ryan Leaf”?
FYI … I like Benson, cause he is a Longhorn of course =p, but I was a little shocked to hear his name with the one Ryan Leaf

I think Benson will be a real stud! I think he will gain 1000 yards as a rookie. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if he has 1300+ yards….

Then again, the Bears have drafted a number of stud RBs and they all have sucked….
