Here is my quick review of “Howl Howl Gaff Gaff” from the Shout Out Louds that I promised last week. It’s awesome.

Here is my not-so-quick review of “Howl Howl Gaff Gaff”. It’s awesome and you should go buy it right now…. 🙂

Ok, I’ll give you a little more. The album is very cool. I hate to compare bands and albums to other bands, but I’ll go ahead and do that for those that like band comparisons. I put the Shout Out Louds somewhere between the Rentals, the Eels, and early Stone Roses.

“HHGG” goes from good jams to mellow back to good jams. Now, they aren’t stomping on the distortion pedals on the jams, but they do rock. And the mellow stuff isn’t gonna have you reaching for a pistol to end life; it’s a happy mellow. I guess “HHGG” falls somewhere between Pop Rock and Alternative.
