Vegas Recap

The trip to Vegas was awesome. Yes, I won every time I sat down at a table until the very end. Yes, I came home with winnings. But, there was a lot more to the trip then just me getting lucky over and over.

We did a lot of eating. Some meals at very nice restaurants, others at old favorites. Our first meal on Thursday was had at one of my favorites, the pizza place in the Village Eateries at the New York, New York. That night we had a very good dinner at the Mon Ami Gabi in the Paris.

We started out with breakfast in the Paris at La Creperie. I went with a crepe thinking it would be a safe bet, it was. We skipped lunch because we had early dinner reservations at the Mesa Grill. Dinner was outstanding. Pricey, but outstanding. Very cool restaurant, nice vibe, and you can’t beat the fact that from my seat I could see the massive screens in the Caesar’s sports book.

Saturday we hit “The Buffet” at the Bellagio. It was pretty good. Not the best buffet I’ve had in Vegas (that honor stays with the buffet at the Aladdin), but very good.

I could go into the what I ate, but I’m sure everyone would punch-out over that much detail. I’ll just say that I was happy with everything I had, across the board.

Now to the gambling. I honestly started around 10am on Thur and didn’t lose a single session until the end on Sat. It was the first time I’ve been lucky like that. My proudest feat was crushing some idiot in 2/4 Hold’em at the Flamingo before breakfast on Fri morn. The guy was drunk and annoying and I just killed him.

Anyhow, I’m going back for Vegas trip 2 in early March. This trip will be a guy trip with much more gambling, and dramatically cheaper meals.

Did the drunk idiot answer to the name Chris? If so, its nothing to be proud of.

There was somebody that answered to the name of Chris that might have had one too many…. But, there was also an Erik that probably had one too many.

We ARE talking about Las Vegas…
