I went and saw the new Indiana Jones movie last night, and I hate to say it, but the best thing I can say about the movie was it was ok. I can’t even get myself to type it was good; I’m sticking with it was, ok.
I think the problem with these legendary trilogies (Star Wars, Indiana Jones, etc) is they wait *way* too long between movies. I don’t know if the problem is it’s hard to pick up after so long away. Or, if there has just been too much technological advancement in movies and the old movies don’t seem right with all the new “stuff”.
Anyhow, go see Indy, don’t let my opinion keep you away. It’s still cool to see Harrison Ford on the screen playing Indy, and there are some familiar faces in the movie that make it fun. I’ll wait a few days, and then update this post with my favorite parts of the movie. That way I don’t spoil it for anyone.
We are all going to see it this afternoon at the Studio Movie Grill. Looking forward to it – thanks for not spoiling it.
I’ll give a spoiler 🙂 Indy solves the archaeological mystery, narrowly avoids the collapsing ancient structures, he gets the girl, and he’s battered and bruised
Ryan,
Make sure and let me know what you think…
Greggo,
You are dead on. That recipe has created 3 great movies, and one decent one.

Erik,
I think you went a little easy on the film. In the words of the great Robert Wilonsky, “It was terrrrrrrrrible.”

Yes…. Not so good. I took my kids to see Speed Racer on Saturday. That was a fun, entertaining movie that I’ll probably see 50 more times (my boys *really* liked it).
