If I have to say something positive about the game I’ll say this. The Aggies had no turnovers in the first half. And I’m not so sure the fumble in the second half was the right call. I saw a knee down before the ball got loose. I won’t complain any more about the play because it was still an ass kicking.
… and I feel I have to “come clean”. My wife just made me watch The Bachelor with her. Actually, she makes me watch it with her every week. You might even get away with saying that I just watch it….. So embarrassing.
I will openly admit to being a HUGE fan of Survivor. It’s much more manly. Heck, this season is all based on being pirates. What guy doesn’t like a show where acting like the best pirate gets you a $1,000,000?
I was excited last week to get a few comments on this blog. For the most part it “flys below the radar” because I am horrible about posting. So the fact that someone not only was reading it, but was commenting on it, I decided to get busy posting again. When I went to the site to view the comments I was alarmed to find the “content” or “body” of the site empty. Blank! Nothing! I was very confused. I just recently switched to MovableType and really didn’t know where to start. This problem bothered me for a few days and today I decided to get to the bottom of things. After digging/looking around I figured it out. A real easy/stupid thing. I had this configured to roll-off old posts after 7 days. I hadn’t posted in 7 days and that’s why the body was blank. I simply switched to a “lastn=10” and everything is back and working. I hope everyone is relieved that I’ve got this working again.
This past weekend we celebrated Noah’s 1st birthday with a big, old party at our house. It was fun. I think he had a good time. He definitely enjoyed his first taste of cake. See the pics here. On behalf of Noah I’d like to thank everyone who came, he loves all the new toys…..
… have you been? That’s what most of you probably have been saying. Well, I was on vacation. Down in Houston and San Antonio, TX. Last Tue-Thur I was at Minute Maid Park watching my beloved Cubs play the Astros. The Cubs won 1 of 3. I hoped for better. Mark Prior did pitch a gem, though.
From Houston I went to San Antonio for a bachelor party. It was fun, fun, fun. We stayed at a great, old, historic hotel, the Menger. One plus of staying at the Menger is that it is literally across the street from The Alamo. Just a friendly reminder, “Remember The Alamo!”
I came back to work Tuesday and have been swamped playing catch-up. Wednesday I was in training all day. Today, I’ve got a number of things to do. First on my list, get something posted on uptime. The only problem is that my laptop is “in the shop” and it has my bookmark to the uptime site where I post.
Look for more regular posts as I get more used to this.
It was another trip down to Houston, this one wasn’t the standard trip down to see family. It was to attend the wedding of a friend/fraternity brother. Katie and I had a great time. It’s fun to see old college friends and “catch-up” in person. Katie and I have said we are really going to make an effort to see our friends more often when we go down to Houston.
I think I have “comments” working. Let me know if you have any problems.
In the very near future I plan on making this “half-ass” site public knowledge. After that time I might see some comments generated by people other then myself.
Here we go. I’m officially blogging. I’m not sure how often I’ll post, or what you’ll find here. I’d expect you’ll get a little of everything, some sports talk, some java talk, and some linux talk. I might even beat you down with a bunch of posts on what my baby boy is doing today, it’s always something new, he’s 11 months old.
I really want to enable comments on my posts, and I’ll clean up the page some when I get a little more time. For now you email me at email@example.com
